Cat Seto is a San Francisco-based artist, author and founder/creative director of Ferme à Papier. Her books include Impressions of Paris (published by Harpercollins) and Mom, Inc. (published by Chronicle Books). Her custom art and illustration work includes private client commissions as well as collaborations.
Highlights have been having work appear at The Met, Getty Museum, SFMOMA and Asian Art Museum. Cat holds a BFA in painting and MFA in fiction/creative writing from the University of Michigan and was included in the first Best of American Voices Anthology. She is a recipient of a 2018 Yi Dae Up/Alexander Chee fellowship in fiction from Jack Jones Literary Arts. Some of her literary awards include the Charlies Johnson, Jules Avery Hopwood, and Glimmer Train. Her fiction has appeared in journals such as Glimmer Train, Triquarterly, Michigan Quarterly Review, and Nimrod. Before writing and Ferme, she taught English with the CSP Comprehensive Studies Program at University of Michigan, a holistic teaching and mentoring model supporting the university’s diversity goals. In high school, she was a recipient of a National Young Arts / White House Presidential Scholars Awardee for visual arts.
Ferme à Paper, is a Paris-meets-Brooklyn, eco-friendly stationery collection. It has since been featured by "The New York Times," "Vogue," "In Style," "Elle Décor," "Real Simple," and "Fast Company". Her design studio boutique was formerly located in the SF’s Russian Hill neighborhood where the team happily welcomed the community and its friendly pooches.
